McDonald’s CEO-Lightfoot’s Chicago is “In Crisis”

McDonald’s CEO-Lightfoot’s Chicago is “In Crisis”

McDonald’s CEP Chris Kempczinski, who has shown a proclivity for bowing down to the woke mob, is saying the quiet part out loud.

Lori Lightfoot’s Chicago is a crime-ridden disaster.

Kempczinski said in a recent speech that the company is having trouble convincing McDonald’s employees to return to their corporate headquarters because of fears of rising violent crime.

Chicago, like all liberal run cities with their defund the police mindset, is facing a rising crime wave.

Corporations like the Hedge Fund Citadel, Boeing and Caterpillar have already fled the city. Kempczinski, however, said McDonald’s has no plans to leave.

Last year, Kempczinski was in hot water with the woke-police for a text message he sent to Lightfoot shedding light on growing concerns over crime.

The New York Post reported Kempczinski  was ” under fire over a text message he sent to Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot about shootings in the city that critics say was ‘racist’ and ‘ignorant.’ Protesters say the message — sent on April 19 but revealed Tuesday — appeared to blame parents who ‘failed’ their children.

“p.s. tragic shootings in last week, both at our restaurant yesterday and with Adam Toldeo [sic]. With both, the parents failed those kids which I know is something you can’t say. Even harder to fix,” he said, according to WBEZ Chicago, which obtained the text through a Freedom of Information Act request.”

Fox Business reports:

The CEO of McDonald’s told business leaders in Chicago that tough economic conditions including rising crime have made it more difficult to attract employees and suggested the city does not have an adequate plan in place to address the issues and prevent companies like his from joining the growing list of companies that have fled the Windy City.

“Everywhere I go, I’m confronted by the same question,” McDonald’s President and CEO Chris Kempczinski said in a speech at the Economic Club of Chicago luncheon on Wednesday. “‘What’s going on in Chicago?’ There is a general sense out there that our city is in crisis.”

Kempczinski said that it’s necessary to “face facts” and acknowledge that companies have been leaving the area over the past year due in part to rising crime.

“The facts haven’t been especially kind to the city of Chicago as of late,” Kempczinski explained. “The fact is that there are fewer large companies headquartered in Chicago this year than last year. There are fewer this month than last month.”

Kempczinski added that he has heard people “discount the significance” of companies like Citadel and Caterpillar leaving Chicago recentlyand said he thinks “we can all agree their departure is not good news for our city.”

Twitter users were unsympathetic to Kempczinski due to his support of the politicians and organizations that have failed the city.

McDonald’s CEO Chris Kempczinski has big concerns about surging crime in Chicago, where the fast food giant is based, saying it is impacting the company’s restaurants and making it harder to recruit corporate talent. Blame the Democrats. https://t.co/VQp0yvNqRZ
