Crime is rampant in Biden’s America – Americans are now facing a rise in catalytic converter thefts.
It has gotten so bad that over three dozen states have proposed legislation to try and stop the problem.
ABC17 reported:
Over the last four years, the increase in catalytic converter thefts has been staggering: From roughly 1,300 theft claims in 2018 to more than 52,000 last year.
The catalytic converter theft problem has become so big that more than three dozen states have proposed legislation to deal with it. And 20 of those states have passed that legislation into law.
Two pieces of legislation proposed in Pennsylvania would require a scrap processor or recycling facility to collect information about the vehicle on any catalytic converter being sold and the person selling it. Also, the seller would have their payment withheld for 48 hours.

“Catalytic Converters can be sold for $1,500 or more — the parts made of precious metals like platinum and rhodium. Across the country, brazen thieves caught on tape going after the pricy item.”
The bus service in one school district had to be halted after catalytic converters were stolen from buses.
Fox11 Online reported:
Bussing is unavailable for students in the Oshkosh Area School District Thursday after catalytic converters were stolen from buses overnight.
In a letter sent to parents, the district says Kobussen had all of the catalytic converters stolen from their entire fleet of buses in Oshkosh.
Classes are still in session, the district says, so students will have to find a different way to get to school and home.
In another incident, catalytic converters were stolen from four Meals on Wheels vans.
WLMT 5 reported:
Cincinnati police are investigating after catalytic converters were stolen from four Meals on Wheels vans.
It happened around 7:30 a.m. Wednesday when staff discovered catalytic converters were removed from two 18-passenger Meals on Wheels vans and two 14-passenger vans.
The vans had been parked at the organization’s Linn Street office in the West End of Cincinnati.
Meals on Wheels said the vans are used to take seniors to doctor appointments, grocery stores and recreational trips.
