Joe Biden on Tuesday met with Congressional leaders to discuss legislative priorities through the end of the year.
House GOP Leader Kevin McCarthy and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell joined Biden and Democrat leaders in the Roosevelt Room.
Biden said Americans expect Republicans to work with him and the Democrats.

“We’re going to find other areas of common ground, I hope, because the American people want us to work together,” Biden said.
Biden refused to answer questions from reporters asking about the impending nationwide rail strike.

Joe Biden made a similar statement after the Republicans were projected to win the House of Representatives in the 2022 midterms.
Earlier this month Joe Biden delivered remarks at a Democrat political event at the Howard Theatre in Washington, DC.
Biden got the crowd riled up by vowing to veto legislation coming from a Republican-controlled Congress if it threatens the left’s agenda.
Biden said the American people expect the Republicans to work with him.
“I’m prepared to work with Republicans. But the American people have made it clear: they expect Republicans to work with me as well. [..] If republicans try to walk away from the historic commitment we just made to deal with the climate crisis, I will not let that happen,” Biden said.
