Who is Alexey Kirienko of EXANTE?

Alexey Kirienko is one of the founders and CEO of EXANTE, a global investment company based in Malta.

He is most known for his expertise in and application of probability theory in the financial market, and EXANTE is a reputable broker that has received more than thirty awards since its founding in 2011.

Background

Alexey Kirienko is one of the youngest investors and has achieved acclaim within the investment world as a founder and co-owner of EXANTE. From a young age, Kirienko has had a passion for mathematics and statistics, which led him to study game theory and probability theory.

During his time at university, he became interested in applying his knowledge in stock trading, and he developed complex financial strategies using statistical arbitrage and correlation analysis. With these strategies, he found and seized many opportunities in the financial markets, causing him to rise to prominence within the trading community.

Around 2005, Kirienko developed and implemented several projects with his peers, one of them involving the use of robots to create arbitrage between futures contracts. The project was a success, and Kirienko and his peers managed to make significant returns. After getting his bachelor’s degree, he furthered his education by getting a Master’s degree in Economics. It was during this time that he developed a new business model that would later make a significant impact on the financial markets.

By the time he had obtained his degrees, Kirienko had deep expertise and experience in trading the financial markets. His speciality was – and is – inter-change statistical arbitrage of futures contracts. He also gained experience in global derivatives trading.

Founding of EXANTE

In 2010, Kirienko and colleague Anatoliy Knyazev were prominent and successful traders who had a strong network in the financial community. They had also amassed enough software and innovative infrastructure to execute sophisticated trading strategies, and they decided to start their own brokerage business. The following year, they founded EXANTE in Malta with a third partner, Gatis Eglitis, and their firm received an MFSA license shortly to operate in the country.

EXANTE was founded on the vision to provide traders of all levels with advanced and sophisticated financial infrastructure. Kirienko, Knyazev, and Eglitis wanted to provide a global service that would be able to cater to the needs of a diverse range of traders and allow them to execute complex strategies. The three founders believed in creating a transparent financial environment, where traders can trade with competitive and fair prices.

The broker caught the attention of local investors as the first investment company to provide access to global markets in Malta. The innovation of its bespoke trading platform also drew acclaim, as traders could invest in a wide range of financial instruments from one single account.

Over the years, EXANTE continued developing under the guidance of Kirienko and his co-founders. In 2012, the broker was registered in Cyprus and received a CySEC license to operate locally. This attracted more clients, and EXANTE soon began to develop and expand quickly. Today, it has offices in the United Kingdom and Hong Kong, where it is licensed by the FCA and SFC respectively. It is also compliant with MiFIDII, the regulatory framework in the European Union, where many of EXANTE’s clients are based.

EXANTE offers 600,000 financial instruments in more than 50 global markets, including major ones such as the NASDAQ, the LSE, the NYSE, the HKEX, and the ASX. Products include stocks and ETFs, currencies, commodities, bonds, and derivatives such as options and futures. As an advocate for a fair and transparent market, traders can access quotes in real time with fast and secure trade execution. They can also trade with competitive spreads.

As a pioneer in the Maltese investment circle and an innovative global investment company, EXANTE has received numerous industry awards and recognitions. These include Best Multi-Asset Financial Services Firm 2023 at the Ethical Finance Awards, and Best Trading and Investment Solution Provider UK 2023 from Gazet International Magazine.

Personal interests and work

Kirienko is passionate about the development of the financial industry and its prospects. As the co-owner of EXANTE and an expert in finance and derivatives trading, he has been invited to global conferences as a guest speaker, where he has participated in industry discussions and given talks. He is also an investor in promising start-ups. One of these is Comino, a manufacturer of liquid-cool computers.
