The Great Friendship Project Unveils New Website with Support from a Leading London Web Design Agency

The Charity: Tackling loneliness through community connection

A growing UK charity is making strides in combating loneliness among 20-30 year olds, launching with a brand new website to help spread its message and its growing community.

The Great Friendship Projects, founded in 2021, is a non-profit organisation dedicated to creating spaces where young people can build real friendships and feel supported. Created in response to the rising epidemic of loneliness within this age group, the charity has now grown to over 45,000 community members.

Individuals get to build real connections through community events, educational workshops and outreach programs, the charity provides a lifeline for those feeling physically isolated within our digital world.

The Collaboration

As the charity has grown, it became evident that it was time for a much needed overhaul of their online presence to help promote their community, connection and friendship initiative as well as to spread their message.

In partnership with a leading website design agency in London, a brand new site was developed entirely pro bono as part of the agency’s commitment to supporting good causes through our CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) initiative.

The collaboration also involved branding agency JKR Global who created a whole new visual identity for the charity. The web design agency was then tasked with translating the creative concepts into an accessible, interactive and high performing website, designed to evolve with the charity and connect more people to their work.

The Result

The result is a digital home for The Great Friendship Project’s growing community that reflects the charity’s values of connection, support and inclusivity, while remaining vibrant and easy to navigate.

The new website fosters an experience that feels intuitive, easy to use and engaging through effects and vibrant visuals, while being easy for the charity’s internal team to manage and update. The new site now highlights:

Upcoming community events and initiatives
Real life stories from community members
Insightful blog articles to help the community
Read data showing the measurable impact of the charity
Partnership opportunities with brands and local organisations
Strategic campaigns tackling the stigma of loneliness

Building Something Special

The Great Friendship Project is a testament to what can be achieved when charities and agencies can come together to build something really special.

This collaboration will have a ripple effect as it helps the charity continue doing their incredible work through elevating their online presence, increasing their visibility, refining their message and strengthening that connection with its community, helping others feel less alone.
