White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre on Tuesday won’t say if Joe Biden will return millions of dollars of campaign donations received from Sam Bankman-Fried.
Sam Bankman-Fried, a 30-year-old Democrat darling, spent more than $40 million to fund Democrats through his Ponzi scheme disguised as a crypto exchange he founded.
The FTX crypto company gave at least $40 million to Democrat candidates and causes in the midterms.
Up to $2 billion is ‘missing’ after FTX collapsed last month.
Sam Bankman-Fried was one of Joe Biden’s biggest donors.
Bankman-Fried was arrested by Bahamian authorities on Monday, just one day before he was set to testify before Congress.
How convenient.
AP reporter Zeke Miller asked KJP if Biden will return the millions he received from Sam Bankman-Fried.
“The president received campaign donations…from [SBF] and many prominent Democrats did as well. Will the president return that donation? Does he call on all politicians who got campaign donations that may have come from customer money to return [them]?”
Karine Jean-Pierre declined to comment.
