Furious Chinese Fans ‘Whitewash’ “The Little Mermaid” – Transform Black Ariel into a White Character (VIDEO)

There is one major sign the woke are losing the culture war.

The casting decision for the lead role in the upcoming live-action adaptation of The Little Mermaid has made Chinese Disney fans furious.

The new teaser for The Little Mermaid has garnered a lot of negative feedback on social media. The movie isn’t even out yet, but the trailer made news by earning over 1.5 million YouTube dislikes, as previously reported on The Gateway Pundit.

One upset fan was able to find a way to bring the movie more in line with the classics.

An upset Chinese Disney fan photoshopped the black Ariel from the new “Little Mermaid” into a white one. The photo was originally posted on a Chinese app called the Litte Red Book, also known as Xiaohongshu.

[AI-generated translation] “Restore my impression of Ariel,” the user wrote. “The main reason is that the image of the animated version is too deep in people’s hearts.”

“I didn’t say that the actors were not good. If the animated works of a generation are really popular, the casting image can. People fit the original setting, several princesses that have been released before.”

Another user on Twitter @vandalibm shared a video that went viral, leading to his account suspension last week.

The video featured an edited version of Ariel, played by Halle Bailey, transformed into a whitewashed mermaid. Her dark hair was changed to red hair, and her dark skin was lightened to give her a fairer appearance and changed her facial features.

Watch the video below:

“Credits to our meme Artificial Intelligence scientist @TenGazillionIQ,” @vandalibm wrote on Twitter.

“He fixed The Little Mermaid and turned the woke actor into a ginger white girl. He says he can do fix the whole movie when it comes out with 4x A6000 in 24 hours. It’s over for wokecels,” he said.

He tweeted again and said, “Note for Twitter: This is for purely educational purposes, please do not misinterpret this in a racist way. I am just amazed by a high-IQ friend who works with Artificial Intelligence.”

A Twitter representative informed Gizmodo via email that the account @vandalibm was suspended for breaking the platform’s ban evasion policy.

People all around the world are becoming increasingly aware of Disney’s wokeness, and they are not pleased with it.
