The California Air Resources Board voted to end the sale of natural gas heaters by 2030.
The goal is to replace all gas-powered furnaces and water heaters with electric appliances.
California can’t even keep the lights on as it is.
What could possibly go wrong?
“While this strategy will clean the air for all Californians, it will also lead to reduced emissions in the many low-income and disadvantaged communities that experience greater levels of persistent air pollution,” said CARB Chair Liane Randolph in a statement.
Fox 5 San Diego reported:
The California Air Resources Board voted to end the sale of gas furnaces and gas water heaters by the year 2030.
“Together furnaces and water heaters typically that run on gas account for 90% of gas use in the average California household. So just eliminating these two sources of pollution is going to be a big win for our air quality and our health as well as for addressing climate change,” said Leah Louis Prescott, an environmental advocate.
“I do think a lot more states are going to be following in California’s foots steps and lookin at this as an opportunity to reduce the pollution in our homes and businesses,” Prescott said.
If people do have gas-powered furnaces, there is no need to panic, but in eight years, if your gas furnace or gas water heater breaks, you would have to replace it with an electric appliance.
California last month banned new gas-powered car sales by 2035.
100% of all cars sold in California by 2035 must be ‘free of fossil fuel emissions.’
It is unclear how California drivers will be able to charge millions of electric vehicles in a state plagued by rolling blackouts.
California can’t even keep the lights on during heat waves but the far left radicals in the state are fiercely working to ban all natural gas.
