BRAZIL ELECTION: Conservative Jair Bolsonaro and Socialist Criminal Lula de Silva Will Face Off in Runoff Election

With over 90% of the vote counted in Brazil, incumbent President Jair Bolsonaro is slightly behind Socialist criminal Lula da Silva in the presidential election.

Lula leads with 47% of the vote. Bolsonaro has 44% of the vote. Since neither candidate received a majority of the vote their will be a runoff on October 30th.

Recent polling had Lula with a 50% to 36% lead. There polls are bullsh*t too, just like ours.

Socialist Lula de Silva was convicted on corruption charges before he announced his run for president.

President Trump endorsed Bolsonaro, the Trump of the Tropics.

– Obrigado, meu amigo Trump!

UPDATE – Bolsonaro and Lula will go to a runoff on October 30th. Pollsters incorrectly expected a clear victory of over 50% for Lula before the election.

Lula – 47.63%
Bolsonaro – 43.88%

95% of votes counted.

AP reported:

With 91.6% of the votes counted, former Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva of the leftist Workers’ Party has a slight lead in the nation’s presidential election, with 47.3% support.

Incumbent Jair Bolsonaro is in second, with 44.2% support.

It appears increasingly likely neither of the top two candidates will receive more than 50% of the valid votes, which exclude spoiled and blank ballots, meaning a second round vote will be scheduled for Oct. 30.

The highly polarized election will determine whether the country returns a leftist to the helm of the world’s fourth-largest democracy or keeps the far-right leader in office for another four years.
